چکیده
1983. These enzymes possess the ability to inactivate susceptible ?-lactam antibiotics i.e. penicillins, first, second and third generation cephalosporins aztreonam, but not cephamycins carbapenems . Their mode of action is by hydrolyzing ring. Even before first antibiotic (penicillin) was developed, resistance observed ESBL genes are plasmids- transposons- mediated, as such, can be spread easily other species bacteria. Resistance ESBL- producing bacteria a continuing cause public health problems , it increasingly being in community nosocomial acquired infections. Detection identification these ESBLs laboratory prime importance for selection appropriate used treatment infections caused The aim this review explain detail several phenotypic methods detection confirmation extended spectrum ? lactamases.

Detection of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing strains by the Etest ESBL screen.
Resistance to contemporary broad-spectrum beta-lactams, mediated by extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) enzymes, is an increasing problem worldwide. The Etest (AB Biodisk, Solna, Sweden) ESBL screen uses stable gradient technology to evaluate the MIC of ceftazidime alone compared with the MIC of ceftazidime with clavulanic acid (2 micrograms/ml) to facilitate the recognition of strains expr...
متن کاملExtended Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL) Producing Enterobacteria in Aquatic Environmental Sources of Bangladesh
Extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacteria has become a considerable global concern because of their potential dissemination in humans, in domestic animals, wildlife and the environment. The present study aimed to explore the ESBL producing enterobacteria in aquatic sources of Bangladesh as the water may be the potential source of dissemination of this alarming ant...
متن کاملOutcome of Early Neurological Rehabilitation Patients Colonized with Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL) Producing Bacteria
Colonization with multidrug-resistant germs, in particular methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and extended-spectrum beta-lactamase producing bacteria (ESBL), is an emerging threat in early neurological rehabilitation. This study examined whether colonization with ESBL bacteria had deteriorating effects on neurological rehabilitation patients because of contact precautions (CP). ...
متن کاملDetection of Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamase Producing Salmonella spp. and Multidrug Resistance Pattern
Background: and Objectives: Salmonella infections are endemic in many developing countries with poor sanitary conditions, but emerge sporadically as a serious public health threat in developed countries. Infections with multidrug resistant (MDR) strains of Salmonella have been associated with treatment failures. Salmonella spp. resistant to extended spectrum cephal...
متن کاملPrevalence of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing bacteria in food
Extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacteriaceae with Cefotaximase-München (CTX-M) enzymes are rapidly increasing worldwide and pose a threat to health care. ESBLs with CTX-M enzymes have been isolated from animals and different food products, but it is unknown if food imported from the Mediterranean area may be a possible reservoir of these bacteria. During 2007-2008, swab sam...
